Budget Travel - Has anyone flown Mahan Air?

I don't see much on FT recently about the Iranian airline...except that they were recently de-blacklisted by the EU for safety issues.

But, dang, the flights from Dusseldorf to BKK and DEL are cheap!

Can you transit Tehran without a visa? I plan to visit Iran this year for about 3 weeks, and will be taking at least one internal flight.

You'll need a visa for a 3 week stop, or did I misunderstand? Iran is one of the more difficult visas to obtain but there are agencies that can help and tourism is very quiet but not non-existent (I spent 3 weeks travelling around the country as a tourist in 2005 - it's an amazing place)

Probably not the right airline for those who like a little drink on their flight!
