Question... I am planning on meeting someone at T5 on an arriving flight next week. I want to surprise them, so I'm not going to tell them I'm coming.

The thing is though that every time I've gone through T5, I always go through the exit door near 5Steak to head toward the parking lot. The person I'm meeting though will be heading for the cab stand (without luggage).

My question is whether there is a central exit from security where I will see the person come through or whether there are multiple exits that they can take? I'd hate to miss the person and then have them end up in a cab with me scratching my head.

Thanks,

Jonathan

The cab stand is on the baggage level so your friend will come down the escalators near security to the baggage claim area and out to the cab stand. He would have to go out of his way to come out at the exit near 5steak. So to get to those escalators you need to take the escalator that you use to get to ticketing from parking/airtrain down 2 flights to the baggage claim area and head for the middle where you'll find those escalators.

Here's a T5 map

OK, thanks. So I guess if I stand by the bottom of the escalators I should definitely see the person come out. Appreciate the help!

aren't all people hoarded this way, whether or not they have luggage?

aren't all people hoarded this way, whether or not they have luggage?Unless they know about the exit by 5Steak which makes it easier to get up to the AirTrain.
