Travel Technology - SlingPlayer for BlackBerry is out in Beta

I just came across this:
www.mobile.slingmedia.com
Unfortunately, my BB Storm's browser doesn't connect to www.mobile.xxxxx addresses (they're not Verizon's DNS server -- thanks for nothing, Verizon) so I haven't yet figured out a way to get it. This is appears to be the long-awaited holy grail for SlingBox owners.
Try pointing your mobile browser here:
http://mobile.slingmedia.com/go/phoneSelector?brand=BlackBerry&model=Any+Model
FWIW; it is mobile.slingmedia.com, now www.mobile.slingmedia.com which may explain the error you got.

Ah, that worked. Thanks, Scott!
addendum:
Well, it almost worked. I was able to access the site, but it says that my BB model (Storm) is unsupported. Oh well.

Yeah, the Storm is so different from previous Berries that you are bound to run into stuff like that :(

It's been out for a while. Excellent, and I do mean excellent, on Wifi (though I always have to reset my phone once I'm done with it), terrible on Edge.

Yeah, the Storm is so different from previous Berries that you are bound to run into stuff like that :(The problem, I think, is Verizon rather than the Storm. Verizon is notorious for crippling their phones and PDAs so they can sell services that would otherwise be available for free. Verizon has a stupid and inane video service -- of interest only to those who can't wait to see the latest music video or receive the latest sports score. I'm sure Verizon regards a BB Sling client as a threat to this lucrative income source. If you look at the list of supported phones on the web, you'll see they're only from AT&T and T-Mobile.

I have been using if for about two weeks on my Bold (AT&T, 3G) with a beta download. Works pretty well, though still some issues changing the channel on my DirecTivo (get the guide up, but hard to page up/down and select). Also drains the battery. Still pretty cool - probably going to pay to keep the software (at least I think I need to pay even though it is Beta - the thing tells me I do - have an email to customer service about that).

I have an issue when on wiFi where the picture skips every 10 seconds or so. On 3G it's nearly flawless though!!

Changing the channel takes some getting used to on high speed, and is virtually impossible on Edge.
