Probably a stupid question , but couldn't find an answer anywhere after searching for nearly an hour. I'm traveling on USAir Envoy and wondered if I needed to get some kind of gadget so it can stay charged for the whole flight. Any help much appreciated. :)

I'm not sure what type of in-flt power might be available, but try this
MACALLY USB BATTERY PACK
Macally:
FRYS.com #: 5186746
(about $30 if not on sale)
I keep one in my purse. Will charge my phone for 10 hours talk time, my ipod for 50 hours of listening. Not much bigger than my phone.

More than welcome. Do check the different types first- of my 2- one came with a wall charger and European converter, one didn't. And watch the sales- I got them for under $10 at the 12/26 big sale.

Well, are you on an A330 or a B767? If an A330 there is an Empower iPod/iPhone charger. If a 767, you can just use a normal AC power cord.

I've been using a PowerMonkey for my iPod Touch, iPhone, BlackBerry, etc for the past 9 months. Love it. https://powertraveller.com/iwantsome/primatepower/powermonkey/

My second generation Touch plays about six hours of video or double that amount of audio. I find that no matter how long the flight, I can't stand to watch more than a couple of movies. Just how long IS your flight?? ;)

It's a 757-200....which I think is empowerif it is empower, then this should work (http://www.amazon.com/Monster-Cable-iAirPlay-Charger-Black/dp/B0006Q0N2S)....i use it for my 5th gen ipod w/video and it works like a charm/champ (and it will charge your ipod as well)

I ended up buying the Monster Cable iAirPlay on recommendation from those threads and what do you know it does NOT work with ipod touch 2g. Now I'm stuck as I'm flying tomorrow with no charger.

i take it you tried charging it via the car cigarette lighter adapter right? does it simply just not charge when plugged in or is it not fitting snugly. do you have a case on your ipod touch? the reason i ask is that on my 5th generation ipod, i have a case on it and the end that plugs into the ipod is "fatter" than the std apple charger and didn't fit snugly until i trimmed the opening on the case very carefully with an exacto knife. it took me a moment to figure out that it was my case causing the problem when i tested it to see if would charge with the car cigarette lighter adapter-as soon as i took it out of the case, it began charging
