Budget Travel - Will they honor this rate ? What if they don't ?

I have booked a rental car for the summer in the UK - ~$700 for 3 weeks in a mid-sized 7-seater (zafira) - about $30 per day all-in (this is about half what the cheapest of other agencies and the discount players are offering). Booked via travelocity with a 2nd tier UK agency.

Although I don't think that it's a "mistake rate", I'm concerned that they may try to back out of the deal or downgrade me. It's not prepaid, and I didn't have to provide a CC or anything, which is part of what is making mer nervous.

I'm posting in this forum because I figure there will be plenty of experience with "almost too good to be true" rates.

Should I be worried ? What can I do to minimize the chances of a problem ?

Be sure to have all documentation printed and with you when you go to pick up the rental. All pages, all small print, ect..

You've booked thorugh Travelocity so they take responsibility - see here (http://leisure.travelocity.com/Promotions/0,,TRAVELOCITY|4807|why_buy,00.html), but that's of little comfort if you end up at LHR at 0600 and it's all gone wrong. It'll take hours to sort out.

Apart from carrying details of your booking, why not call Travelocity a few days before you leave and ask for confirmation by e-mail? You can also check out one of the UK aggregator sites to see if the rate is truly 'unbelievable'. For instance:

That's great, thanks - all the reassurance I need. If, worse case, it takes a few hours to sort out a problem then I can just send the family off to the hotel while I get it fixed. I was a lot more worried about (worts case) being out a thousand bucks than about an outside chance of wasting a few hours.

Thanks for the link. My rate was a little llower than the best here, but the link to me to an offer of a Lexus SUV for an extra couple of hundred quid, so I'm seriously considering going with that.
