Korean Air Skypass - ICN-LAX (Prestige Plus Seats)

Hi all,
I've NEVER flown aboard Korean Air--and especially NOT in business class (I'm a budget traveller--so I'm excited about my upcoming trip. I want to make the MOST of this experience. So, I have a few quick questions:
1) Do you have a favorite seat aboard this newly refurbished/refitted 744? Apparently I can't pre-reserve a bulkhead or exit-row seat, so I don't know what to pick. I would imagine that the upper deck is the way to go, but I'm sure some of you all have more experience with this.
2) What's the food like? Is it filling (i.e., they give you enough to eat)? I hate to admit it, but I'm a real foodie, even if it's on an airplane.
3) How's the AVOD/IFE?
4) How's the service in your opinion? What about check-in in ICN and the Prestige Lounge? How early should I arrive at the airport for a 3:00 PM departure?
5) Anything else I should know?
Thanks, FT! :D

Congrat about your business class trip.
1) I heard small section right front of Y class (16-18 seats?) is louder than others. Upper deck or front 3 rows of lower deck is more preferred. I suggest upper level since 747 upper deck really rare experience we (budget travelers) can have. Although a few airliners still operates Y-in-upper-deck-747.
2) If not full, they must have spare food you can eat. Even if not, there must be enough snack or something else than meals to please you :)
3) AVOD is installed.
4) You can come to the airport earlier so that you can enjoy lounge as much as you can. Still you have to come to airport by 1:30 earlier than your flight time.
5) You'll have angled lie flat C seat, which I assume you already came to know.

Thanks for the quick reply!!! :D
1) Right now, I'm in 20A (upper deck) in the new configuration. Is it a pretty standard seat? Do you know if it's hard to get in and out a window seat upstairs, especially when your "row buddy" is fully reclined.
2) How might I go about securing a bulkhead or exit row seat with KE?
3) Will I be able to access the KAL Lounge in LAX upon arrival for a quick shower?
Again, you all are awesome! :-:

1) I don't have any experience of KE C class on new configuration, but I would say "if you're tall", you can jump over aisle seat passenger easily :) At least front seat does not come over your row after incline, it will be okay, I guess, but no clue in fact. Sorry.
2) You can try. Since more than 1/3 of business seats are either bulkhead or exit, I don't think KE will act harsh on it. I'm pretty sure KE blocks those seats for later use, not because those are already occupied. Even though nothing works, you'll catch it if you arrive airport early. (not helpful again, sorry about that.)
3) KE does not have any arrival lounge. So does LAX airport, I think. By the way, KE's LAX lounge does not have shower facility - want to let you know if you're having round trip.

1)The legroom is massive, so you can get out easily.
2)Just give them a call
3)LAX doesnt have a Arrival lounge.
Thanks for the quick reply!!! :D

Thanks for the reply, BimmerKid2! I have just a few more quick questions for you (and anyone else with input):
1) When I fly from EWR-PEK-ICN, I have a LOOOOONG layover (i.e., 7+ hours) in PEK. Do you know whether they've updated the Air China lounge--which is what I'm presumably supposed to use as a BusinessFirst pax on CO? I'd like to get a shower when I land, especially after being in an aluminum tube for 13+ hours.
2) The agents on the phone say that all exit rows and bulkheads are blocked until day of departure. The agent went on to say that I probably don't want a bulkhead seat, because it's where the infants go (i.e., lots of crying). So, I'm wondering whether it makes sense for me to stick with 20A and not bother the agents. Was there a reason why you chose the "forward" half of the UD?
3) How's the ground service in LAX in terms of retrieving priority-tagged luggage prior to customs? I've got a domestic connection that I can't miss (i.e., there's only one flight a day), and I don't know if a 30+ minute wait (which has happened to me before) is something I can afford. Most American carriers are abysmal when it comes to following protocol with handling priority luggage.
4) This will probably be one of the few times that I actually get to fly aboard KE in international C, and I want to maximize this experience (on the ground and in the air). Are there any other tips/suggestions you have for getting the most out of this flight?
Thanks a lot. You all are wicked awesome. By the way, awesome TR, Bimmerkid2! :-:
