I found the best deal for the car category we want for our 6 days in France. We have always rented from Hertz or AutoEurope abroad....any experiences negative or positive with a Sixt rental in France??

Do you have a Sixt card? glsebs Jan 28, 09, 3:10 pm We are picking up the car in Strasbourg, driving around Lake Geneva in Switzerland and dropping off the car in Lyon at the train and taking the train to Paris. It is a 6 day rental. What is the Sixt card.....like I said I have never rented from them, only Hertz and AutoEurope in Europe. Thanks for any opinions about Sixt....I have read some forums where people have said they were scammed by Sixt, yet others rave about the company. dauphine Jan 29, 09, 8:42 am Hi again, I got most of my experiences at CDG airport. As a Platinum member, I always received very nice upgrade, even amazing sometimes. I could not give you clue about rentals in Strasbourg. Maybe, in order to get a better treatment, you should check if you could bnot apply to platinum membership. I got it because of my Air France Platinum card. I know they match platinum for top-tier members of Hilton Honors, Miles and More.... chgoeke Feb 3, 09, 8:32 am Had some great cars from CDG station as well. Can't report on other stations in france. totti Feb 4, 09, 1:33 pm I rented with Sixt at CDG, NCE and SXB and I never had any bad experience. BMK Feb 10, 09, 2:12 pm I've rented with Sixt at NCE and had a fantastic upgrade this summer so no complaints at all (and I was a lowly Sixt express card holder at the time). graraps Feb 16, 09, 10:50 am Where are you finding all these cheap rates? The couple of times that I've needed a rental in France, the Sixt rates were totally crazy (230 Euros for a 207 for the weekend?!?!) BMK Feb 16, 09, 11:56 pm hmmm..agree with you that theyre not the cheapest all the time but haven't had any complaints with the service. Booked a 3 series and was upgraded to a new Merc CL500 last summer. Lovely.! Slightly off-topic Sixt is almost three times as expensive as Avis in GVA for me in a couple of weeks time. |
