Lively thread about this in the DL forum. Article is massively incorrect. The plaintiff believed her seniority with DL afforded her boarding priority on our flight prior to one of her junior colleagues, and made a scene with our agent. In addition, she was wearing jeans which is not appropriate attire for the PRIVILEGE (emphasis mine) of jumpseating.

She has since been terminated by Delta, and has put the PROFESSIONAL COURTESY/PRIVILEGE (emphasis mine) of jumpseating in jeopardy by her actions and litigation.

Jumpseating on another carrier is a privilage afforded by the airlines. There is nothing stopping them from scrapping the whole idea and cancelling an agreement, with an airline, when someone who is attempting to utilize the agreement makes a scene. I've witnessed my a couple of jetblue flight attendants refused travel on NWA for this specific reason.

When you are on another carrier, you are boarded on a first-come, first-serve basis. Seniority means nothing when traveling on another carrier. Also there is a dress code when using a jumpseat agreement. That dress code states full uniform or business casual and that is strickly enforced. If she attempted to board in something other than that then she should have been asked to go change or be denied boarding.

I knew something was up with this story when it took 2 years to file a lawsuit. If I was treated that badly I would have been on the ball alot quicker. If the facts above are accurate then she isn't going to win squat. If our crewmembers were in the wrong then JetBlue should pay. However, as always i'll hold my judgement until the full facts of the story are released.
