I don't know the answer to this, as I just go from point a to point b.
My boss wants to go to Munich, then Dresden, then St Petersburg on one first class FF ticket, home from St Pete to the States
Is that possible?
Thanks for any info.

which airline[s].......

the easiest way is to call the airline.....or look on the web site

there are some awards that are based on mi's flown that allow multiple stops, iirc..

good luck....

Depending on how long he wants to stay in each place it may be possible on a single reward ticket, with a < 24 hour stopover at one of those places (likely Munich).

Otherwise he should look at USA-Munich (stopover) -Dresden for the outbound leg and St. Petersburg - USA for the return leg, with buying his own ticket from Dresden - St. Petersburg. Many programs allow an open-jaw and a stopover on the same ticket and with a bit of creativity they can be leveraged quite well to make for a great trip.

Do you know what program(s) the miles are in that would be used for this ticket? That will make a HUGE difference in the rules.

He has United, BA, and Amex, all around 600,000 points, I thought I could use the United for Lufthansa, but I did not know a multi leg was possible.
I will start with United and see what they have to say.
Thank you so much for your help - learned something:).

Also, when does he want to go? Is he willing to part with enough miles for an "anytime" type award rather than a saver award? If so, it will make it much easier to make the reservations. Of course, this would eliminate using LH on the some of the legs because LH is only "saver" awards.

United allows either a stopover OR an openjaw.
Amex MR could be transferred to Air Canada Aeroplan (two stopovers I think) or ANA (up to four stopovers, mileage based).
AA has "OneWorld awards", which are distance based. They also have All-Partner awards with more restrictive routing rules.

For details of all of these, visit the program-specific fora on this site.

EDIT: It looks like ANA will not allow three stopovers in Europe (Munich, Dresden, St Petersburg)--only two are allowed.

The most complicated thing in the itinerary really is the Dresden side trip.

It's for June. He will do an anytime award - he has enough miles. He is not adverse to paying for part of the trip, and if that is Dresden to St Pete, that's ok! I will look into all of this tomorrow.
I really appreciate all the help.
Thank you,
