Travel Technology - Metro mobile software for Public transport

I recently found a free software for mobiles that finds how to get to a location in a city using public transport. http://metro.nanika.net/MetroA-en.html

It seems to be available for many devices but I have used it only with my nokia N81 where it works fine. The best thing is that it does not require any connection to a network i.e. works offline ^ .

Can anyone comment on its accuracy? It was pretty accurate for Barcelona and Berlin, the only cities I have tested so far.

Dang, that sure would have come in handy while I was in DC before and during the inauguration. Downloading now, thanks for the tip!

wmata.com does have a mobile page you could have used while here in DC. However, this past tuesday many routes were altered or didn't run on schedule.

Not to go all OT-- but once I got a Treo it changed my life. I've had the 600, 650, 680, 700, 750 and 755.

When I could go to my palm contacts, hit the number and dial.. it was like nirvana

MetrO's been one of my go-to "killer-apps" for while now. I've been impressed both by its simplicity and its accuracy in complex metro's like London, Frankfurt, and Tokyo.

Most stations have area street maps posted, so I would use MetrO to get me to the right station, then the street map to walk to the actual spot.

I also like that it filters out stations from the routing based on your time-of-day.
