Does anyone know whether QF flies their 744-400ER's (i.e. regos VH-OEE thru VH-OEJ) on these services (Sydney to Buenos Aires and back)?

Lonely Flyer Jan 12, 09, 8:18 pm I think they may only use their "Longreach" versions at the moment but comments on AirlinersdotNet seem to indicate the ER will be doing SYD-EZE as well. Generally configured for Pacific Route. number_6 Jan 12, 09, 8:19 pm There's no particular advantage (MEL-EZE is 700 miles shorter than MEL-LAX and 250 miles shorter than SYD-LAX). It would make more sense to use the ERs into LAX (but there are only 6 of them, so not enough for all flights). The ERs are only 400 miles longer range than the 744s (which is why very few were sold, the extra cost is justified for only a handful of routes). I think LAX-MEL is the only one that needs 744ERs. Kiwi Flyer Jan 12, 09, 9:12 pm When I did SYD-EZE vv (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/trip-reports/893299-one-world-revolutions-around-mostly-southern-hemisphere.html) last year it was on 747-400ER. thadocta Jan 13, 09, 3:29 am I think they may only use their "Longreach" versions at the moment ALL QF 747-4XX aircraft are "Longreach" aircraft.
