Hello everybody,
First post in the forum, been a lurker until now but maybe I can post something useful that I found...
I remember before NY some great US fares ex-Germany coming up on the forum, which needed to be booked by 31st Dec. Well, at least ex-BRU some great fares are still to be found, including those quoted above. available throughout January, February and into March at least.
regards,
Pedro

FWIW the FRA/MUC-LGA fares are now at 260€ on US and available at least through may. However they book into S or T class, so 50% mileage on M&M only.
Greetings - Dirk
Sometimes even cheaper if you book through http://www.govoyages.com.
NYC from 248 ai
LAX from 298 ai.
all flights are with us airways.
The bucket shop www.joker.be has the us airways flights also. Books in W class and free stopover in PHL is possible.
An other bucket shop www.connections.be matches us airways' prices but flights are with United. I believe it also books in W class but no stopover allowed, not 100% sure on this though.

Found them... 238 EUR to LGA, 284 EUR to LAX. Now finding a cheap feeder flight.
I cant figure out what class they book in. Never had the pleasure of US longhaul. I heard someone saying "You dont know what a hard MR is unless you did it on US Air"

US longhaul quite possibly belongs in one of Dante's circle of hell.

unfortunately, if you fly Y, there is really no comparison between US and UA. The only difference would be that in UA you have E+, on the other hand, US has AVOD. I flew FRA-PHL in december with US and seat pitch was not an issue, but then again, i'm only 5'7"...

Is there any possibility to start such a trip in germany for a comparable price ?
UA would be of course the preferred carrier

Isn't that when they buried the priests upside down or something...

I usually took the Thalys from Cologne to Bruxelles Midi, connecting to BRU took another 20min. So the noonish departure ex BRU can easily be reached from Germany with low costs. (about 30 EUR).
On the return (depending on fare and destination) it is sometimes possible to fly via FRA / MUC to BRU with the last segment on LH.
