Travel Technology - iTunes 8 slow sync?

My iPod classic crashed for no reason, and iTunes wanted to restore it. I hit restore, and now I am in day 2 of the re-sync. It's taking about 3 minutes per song (only about 3000 songs) and the interface takes about 10 seconds to respond to mouse clicks. I've rebooted and restarted and it's still the same. It was working fine up until the crash. :confused:

Oh dear. Whilst being able to offer no remedy, thank you for the warning before I "upgrade". Can I advise contemplating a handle change to greybeard for when your sync is complete? :D

It's version 8.0.2. It seems that every other upgrade is garbage. I usually stick with a stable version as long as I can, but others in my household ignore my requests to not download everytime a program asks you to.
