Online Travel Booking and Bidding Agencies - where do travel sites get their data from?

I have a friend who wants to know. Sites like expedia travelocity etc where do they get their data from? Is it directly out of amadeus/sabre etc?

From the same place that Amadeus and Sabre get it from. They get their data from the hotels, from the hotels sales team.
