American Express Membership Rewards - Centurion?

A very close friend of mine is a 15 year Amex Gold card holder and he spends between 125k-200k anually. Do you think he would be eligible for a Centurion upgrade? Thanks

No. He needs to spend 225k a year to qualify. There are two or three threads on the first page of this subforum discussing it, and more if you search.

He's right it is 250k I misspoke.

Funny how this has been discussed 1000 times, but people still post incorrect info! The 250k charge&spend does not have to be on a charge card, credit cards work too.

SOMEONE LOCK THE THREAD! Oh i will join in ....12 months is a rolling 12 months and you can combine personal amex credit and charge cards. oh yeah they make sure you pay 250k also. You can do a centurion biz also

My experience was that a) the official gatekeeper of the Centurion product is the Platinum charge card group, b) that group will tell you the rules are 250k spend/pay on a Platinum charge card for 12 months, and c) the actual rule is 250k spend/pay on any combination of any Amex personal charge/credit cards, d) if you qualify other than by spend on Platinum charge card, you need to contact Centurion customer service directly to have your qualifications verified.

Also, if, say, your spending over the last 14 months is $250,000, they will count the spending over that period. They aren't strict about the "12 months," but they are strict about "$250,000" and "$5,000" and "$2,500."



Please nobody ask if they can get the fee waived. Please.
