My husband recently accepted a job in Abu Dhabi, so we were treated to a Airbus 340 13 Hour Business Class flight to our new home. I found the service superior to most international business class flights that I have taken:
Limo Service- in NYC, a black town car picked us up from our apartment and transported us to the airport. In Abu Dhabi, a town car (white, less luxe than in NYC) transported us to our Apartment Hotel. Seamless, easy- nice perk.
Cabin/seating: light, spacious. Each seat extends to a bed. Window seats are most private for those traveling alone, some seats come in pairs in the middle which are nice for couples.
Amenity pack: included the usual airplane socks, eye mask, toiletries and bottle of water.
Entertainment offering: Screens above average size, and entertainment offerings were extensive. Movies available ranged from Mary Poppins to the Dark Knight and beyond (over 40 Hollywood and Bollywood choices). TV series and music channels in multiple languages were also available. Screen options also included flight maps and plane cameras (to see below or above the plane as it flies).
Food: Lunch included two choices for appetizer (a quiche or trout and potato pancake) and around 5 for entrée (salmon, chicken, lobster pasta…). The menu also included an anytime list (ranging from popcorn, to breakfast pastries, to a club sandwich with chips) that could be ordered as often as you want. The food was of restaurant caliber, and I especially enjoyed my salmon entrée and the club sandwich looked great. I don't drink wine when I fly (headache issue) but the menu also included a wine and champagne list.
Passport Control Fast Track: All business class passengers are awarded a Customs/Passport Control Fast Track certificate- this allows access to a much shorter passport control line.
Overall, a great flight.
