Thai Airways Royal Orchid Plus - TG981/982 OLD 777-200 Running to Melbourne At the moment

TG981/982 is being operated basically every day at the moment with an old non ER, B777-200 with no PTV in economy. This is the 1630 departure to Bangkok ex-MEL and the 0015 departure from BKK to MEL. Anybody know why this is happening? Is there a plane out for maintenance that is causing the need to adjust the schedule? I am glad im on the OTHER flight this week! I am booked on the overnight flight later in the month though back from BKK to MEL and I think I want to change the flight!

I have gotten this info from ACARS information, which shows the registration numbers being used on the flights for the past 2 weeks. Almost every day its being flown by aircraft HS-TJC/TJD/TJH etc. The other flight is consistently HS-TJR and above (new cabin 772ER with PTV in economy)

I just checked further into it, the last 3 days have been 777-200ER's, however up until the 1st Jan basically since flights restarted after the airport shutdown they were 777-200... I hope its over now

Looks like whatever made TG do this, has been resolved, all January flights ops by 777-200ER to MEL. Only December flights were affected by the change (SO FAR!)

Anyone on TG980 2mrw night?

TG982/981 today to melb operated by HS-TKB, new config B777-300.
