OK, I know I'm going back a few years. Time to jog some memories!

I figured if there were any Braniff experts floating around, they would be on FT.

I am currently working on my MBA and we were just assigned a case study on Braniff. If any other FT'rs out there wouldn't mind answering a few questions for me (via private email), or posting some links with quality information on Braniff, I would sincerely appreciate your time.

The main focus of the case study is Harding Lawrence and how his leadership style, personal traits, behaviors, attitudes and decision making contributed to the downfall of Braniff.

This post may be a bit offtopic, but I didn't see any other Forum that appeared to be a better choice.

Two book recommendations:

"Splash of Colors" by John Nance -- the definitive history of BN's decline and bankruptcy. Published circa 1985. Nance was a BN pilot at the time; this was his first book; he's now a major aviation author and ABC News aviation analyst.

"A Life in Advertising" by Mary Wells. Her agency, Wells Rich Greene, did the Braniff "If You've Got It, Flaunt It" campaign and painted the planes up so they were nicknamed the "jellybean fleet" ... and she eventually married Harding Lawrence. Lots in the book about Braniff flamboyance.

Hockeystl,

Because this post has nothing to do with miles or points, I'm going to move it over to TravelBuzz!

You can continue to monitor it there.
