Thanks for the update. Also LAS operation days are to be changed from 257 to 146 (ICN departure days). KE recently closed seats for MON, FRI, and some of WED operations to SFO, Sunday to SEA and DFW, throughout most of summer season. I guess KE will decide to operate these flights later, depends on how economy situation goes.

Thanks for the info! I'm glad business is good enough for them to only fly the 747 between ICN-JFK selffishly though I'd much rather fly on their 777 it's just more comfortable.

Schedule changes - highlights:

Chicago - upgraded to 744
Dallas - reduced to 3x weekly
Honolulu - upgraded to 744
San Francisco - reduced to 5x weekly
Seattle - increased to 4x weekly
Washington, D.C. - 744 frequencies downgraded to 777

- - -

Is the ORD/ICN flight scheduled to be operated with the new configuration or the old configuration (like last year)? I can't seem to pull up a seat map. Thanks.

Thanks for the update. All your lists are bookable. Many interesting changes are there. What you listed are all new configuration include ORD, oh wait, exclude HNL. I found that LAS will see some change because all Thursday (Friday from LAS) flights are zero'd out - there will be day change or frequency reduction. Also DFW flight schedule is once again pulled to earlier, which I hate. By the way, SEA is to 5xw from June.

One more interesting thing is, SFO and SEA will go daily during summer peak months, but that increments will be old configuration. Those will be Mon/Fri SFO and Wed/Sun SEA.

Also I found additional 3/w LAX flights on peak season, between July 19 and August 22, with very experimental schedule:
KE 021 ICN-LAX 0130-2055(-1), Mon/Fri/Sat, 747
KE 022 LAX-ICN 2330-0350(+2), Thu/Fri/Sun, 747

Those are with new configuration, too. Also KE015/016 (3/w LAX flight) will be increased to 4/w during peak season which makes total 24 nonstops ICN-LAX.

So ICN-HNL will be served on a 744? Do you know when this begins?

Thanks for the update, as always. KE's changes are quite interesting. KE removed all triangle or multi-stop flights like a couple of years ago, but now so so many of them came again.

The highlight is new night arrival into LAX. So far, CX has been the only Asian carrier that offers a night arrival, CX880, into LAX which departs from HKG around 23:30 and arrives around 22:00 at LAX. The aircraft would not have to sit at LAX ground for whole afternoon now.

I'm considering booking LAS-ICN-LAS on KE5/6 (I know the outbound LAS-ICN has a stop in LAX). I'm finding contradictory information - some places it says it will operate with a 2-class 747 (combi?) and some places it says it will operate with 747-400... so which plane will most likely operate these flights?

Travel dates: Outbound July8, Return August19.

TIA

KE doesn't fly 747COMBI to the US. US service are 3-class service on 747.

The following is from jimyvr's airline route blog:

In addition to the change of routing for Las Vegas flight, as per 25FEB09 GDS timetable and inventory display, Korean Air starting 01JUN09 is operating 2-class configuration Boeing 747-400 instead of 777 aircraft.

The flight operates 3 weekly as Seoul - Las Vegas - Los Angeles - Seoul

So is it a 2-class configuration per the blog, or is it a 3-class configuration per your post?

It is 3-class configuration (refurbished one) and currently sold as 3-class (PCY). As jiml1126 told, all 747 flights to US are with 3 classes. It might be that when jimyvr's blog was updated (25FEB), KE didn't decide yet refurbished one (P class) or not-refurbished one (F class) to deploy on this route. Then they don't sell first class for a while until that problem is solved. Same thing happened for YYZ and a few other cases. Now it is clearly 3 classes.

I was probably using my assumption when i wrote the blog post on that day but as of yesterday GDS display it shows 3-class 744. Operating
