I am a US Permanent Resident traveling to Mexico by airplane for tourism purposes. On the consulate website it states I need to get a Tourist Card (FMT). Will my airline give it me in flight or do I need to go to the Mexican Consulate to get one in advance? I have traveled to Mexico before by air, sometime in 2002, and I remember I went to the consulate to get that card. Now it looks like my airlines is suppose to give me one on the plane (per consulate's website). Anybody has any experience with that? Should I worry? Should I go to the consulate and get that card there, or just relax and I will get it on the plane? Thanks

Don't worry. You will get the card on the plane. Be sure to hang onto it as you will have to hand it in when you leave the country and will be fined if you have lost it.
BTW, you will need to travel with your passport. Make sure you don't need a visa!

The tourist card is handed out on the aircraft, don't worry. It's the normal landing card that they pass out for everybody at some point during the flight.

You will need to carry proof of your US permanent residency, but you should have that with you anyway as you will need it to get back into the US when you return.

Enjoy your trip!

Thank you both for your advise, it alleviated my worries!

In regard to visa, according to the Mexican consulate site, no visa required for any US permanent Residents, so that covers it pretty well.

Thank you, once again!
