Question: The flight I'm looking at has only 1 seat left in AA Q, but there are four of us travelling. My question is this: If we were to book three of the seats on Orbitz on one PNR, and the fourth on another, would the first three seats close out the available Q for the fourth? I don't think Orbitz would book different pax on the same PNR at different prices, so I would think the Q seat would still be there, correct?

The reason I ask is if the Q is left open for the fourth person, the price assurance should kick in, and we'd save about $100/pax for the three pax on the first PNR.

I am in a similar situation where I bought 4 tickets on Orbitz at one time then bought an additional lower-priced ticket 5 months later thinking the Price Assurance would kick in. Right now Orbitz CSR claims for Price Assurance to kick in, the exact same number of passengers need to buy the same number of tickets (in my case 4 lower priced tickets on the same flights/dates). I am contesting this with Orbitz corporate because it does not state that in the T&Cs. I may need to escalate it to the BBB and state AG for misrepresentation.

I'd like to hear what happens on this. Thanks in advance. :)

I also would like to hear how this comes out. It is not in the T&C as I read them, but I have read elsewhere that this has happened as well. Matching number of passengers. Phooey! If they are doing this, who knows what else they are doing and since you have to take their word to notify you of the price change, unless you actually know someone who books that "identical" itinerary, how would you know they had not just "overlooked" getting you your refund!

I am also involved with Orbitz on a similar issue. From my understanding the number of passenger should not matter. But it depends when and how you call, and who you talk to.
I am looking into solving my issue, please let me know what you find out. There is another thread on here about their price assurance.
