I just saw this. I'm not clear if you are already a VIP, if you'll get the 500 mile bonus.

2. Dine four times at participating restaurants by 2/28/09 and spend $25 or more each time.

* This bonus is open to Online members only. You must opt in to receive emails in order to qualify; so make sure you have elected to receive emails from the AAdvantage DiningSM program and that you have provided us with a valid, deliverable email address when you register. You must continue to satisfy other VIP level criteria to maintain VIP status.
To qualify, a dine must be $25 or more (including tax and tip) at a participating restaurant, bar or club after your advance online registration in the Fast Track to VIP Bonus (via the link above) and by February 28, 2009. Dines must occur on days when a benefit is being offered and paid for with a credit or debit card registered in the AAdvantage DiningSM program. The bad thing I notice about this is that it makes no mention of earning an additional 5 miles by writing a review of the dine. I wonder if this means that the bonus will no longer be available next year?

I went back and checked my e-mail notifications from RN, and about a month ago (Nov. 25th), I received an e-mail with the following title:

Congratulations NNR, You Are VIP Through 2009

I wonder if this promotion means that, if I complete the bonus, I will be VIP through 2010? :confused:

I do not think the VIP will be extended until 2010 with this promotion, but I do think everyone will be able to earn the 500 bonus miles.

I didn't get an email about the bonus, but after seeing this thread, I did check my Idine account and saw it within my "Messages" there.

Since I got my "you're vip for 2009" email like many others, I think I'm going to wait another week or so before I try to get my 500 bonus miles...want to see if the "rate your dine" bonus (or other more tempting bonus) will roll around. :)

I signed up a few weeks ago and have one dine. I got the email as well. Now all the restaurants in the list show 10 miles/dollar or 8 miles/dollar. Before, they all showed 3. Anyone know why? I'm still an "online member" and it shows "Dines to 2009 VIP Status: 10."

I wonder if rating the resto will still give a bonus 5 miles, for a total of 15.

I'm just wondering if, once my VIP status posts (my fourth dine was 1/29), whether I will receive the 5 miles per dollar spent in February, rather than the three they are now showing. Or whether I will get only the 500 miles bonus.
