Is it possible to be done? Transfering points between father and his son or vice versa?

Thanks alot.. Exactly what I wanted to know. Is there a limit for the amount of points to be transfered? Or one could transfer as much as they have?

You may want to also consider just gifting an award to them...it will save the point transfer fees.

Per the HHonors website:
"HHonors points can be transferred to any other HHonors member in increments of 10,000 points, at a cost of $25.00 per 10,000 points. This rate applies to all points transferred up to 200,000. After 200,000 points have been transferred in one calendar year, all additional transfers are free of charge!"

aztimm is right, the best way to "transfer" HH points is to gift the award cert. Just log onto your HH account, go to Member Services, click Hotel and Point Stretcher Rewards, choose the type of award you want to redeem, input recipient's name and you're done.

Can I book a room for my wife using HH reward points directly instead of transferring points?

Oh thats interesting. I thought the guest name should match the HH member name.

Transfer points to another HH member cost money and it is not worth it. Booking a reward is the way to go.

Also, I believe that HH booking allows for a spouse to be on the reservation free (rather than a paid second person), so if you booked a room for you AND her, and then you couldn't make it, well, it still counts for them.

Interesting approach... do you guys know if a general member redeems the points and puts my name on the res (I'm a Gold), will I be able to take advantage of the Gold benefits (i.e. lounge access, breakfast cert., etc.) or do they consider the person redeeming given the level of appropriate benefits?

Thanks in advance!

I am a Hilton diamond. When I have used an award provided by someone with lesser or no status, my status prevails. I've made the booking in my name; it is simply that the award number provided by the other person is attached to the stay.

I've always made award reservations for someone else via phone. So if you don't mind, I'd like to 'review' the steps to do this online:

~ First, log into my account, and make a reward reservation in the other person's name..?..

~ Then, while in my account, go to Rewards and redeem points to receive the rewards certificate number...?... Will there be something there to enter the other person's name, or it doesn't matter?

Thanks so much for clarifying, I don't want to do this wrong :)
