There's a thread up on the BA forum claiming that BA is now an Amex MR partner, but I don't see it. Is this for UK Amex only ?

However, IB seems like it has the best OW xfer/redemtion rates - though no use for BA MFU. Anybody have any experience xfering to IB for BA; how long does it take ?

It is for UK cards only AFAIK.

And IB isn't necessarily bad as far as redemption rates, but it can vary depending on what type of reward you are looking for. Some analysis here (http://www.wanderingaramean.com/2008/07/membership-rewards-adds-airline-partner.html) of redemption costs.

Thanks - so IB is new.

I was forgetting that the distance is the RT distance, not OW. Even so, BA TATL J is 112k to the west coast and 88k to the east coast in CW - the latter pretty good, the former a little on the high side, but still worth considering. And 154k RT to India in CW is pretty good also.

I saw the BA posting, too. I raced to my US Amex homepage, but I couldn't find anything about it. Must only be UK.

But, I can transfer to IB and book BA? I never knew that! Very useful!

Yup...since June '08. And there is also the MX option. Check both before transferring, as the rates are calculated very differently.
