Starwood Preferred Guest - Taxes on free points stay at the Atlantic?

Just checked my portfolio on the television and I see that I have been charged for room taxes - something I've never seen before on a points-based stay.
Is this a "Florida" thing or is it something that I should be fighting? Do either of our Lurkers have any information on this?
That said, lovely hotel and nice upgrade but it will be about $250 before I leave! Thanks.

We just stayed 2 nights ago at the Atlantic; we paid with Cash & Points. Our bill shows a 6% FL state tax and a $4.50 occupancy/tourism tax.
If you had a free stay, I'm thinking there shouldn't be any taxes. At least not the state tax.
I've never paid taxes before when using points for free nights at other Starwood properties.
Just call the front desk. Maybe it's just showing up on your portfolio and will be removed when you check out.

If reward, the room cost "$0.00" so what are the taxes on that? ;)
taxes not covered in award? (http://flyertalk.com/forum/starwood-preferred-guest/462251-taxes-not-covered-award.html)
The only fee you might pay is the resort fee

I'll check again tomorrow. If still on the bill, I'll speak to the front desk and report back.
Many thanks.

Don't wait do it now. Get the issue resolved now, this way you wont have to deal with a long check out.
