American Express Membership Rewards - UK Customers Service - complaints (Amex Plat)

Tried between 2pm and 8pm on Boxing Day to phone the UK Customer Service Line to find out why my card had been declined. Rang the number at the back of the card (AMEX Plat) only to reach a 3 seconds of waiting music followed by a message from the security/fraud department to say they were closed for the day and to try the number at the back of my card; which was the number I was already trying after which there was an automatic hang-up. Rendered my AMEX Plat useless for the rest of the day.

Even rang the lost card number on the Amex UK website and got the same message. Surely this is not normal for Amex especially for an Amex Plat Customer Service.

Agent today said they were a high level of calls and some departments were closed. Surely this is not typical Amex service. I got through to Citibank's Visa Indian call centre on Boxing Day where I do not have to pay for the card.

Is there a way I can register a complaint. Those Amex Plat annual fees are rather high after all.
