I have just booked a KE F-Ticket for ZRH-VIE in March.
Some questions:
What lounge KE is using at Zurich airport?
What to expect in F for such a short flight sector?
What champagne KE serves in F ?
Seats on an A333 are the oldest ones? (At least what KE webpage is telling.
Doesn`t matter actually for a 1 hour flight, just for interest)

Many thanks for any replies,

Ettrich

Hi Ettrich,

there's only one skyteam lounge at ZRH. It's located near the passport control next to check-in 2: turn left after passport control, pass by one or two tax-free shops, then turn left again (there's a signboard). Take the stairs (or elevator) one level up & there you are. Note: from the lounge you need about 15-20 minutes.

In March, there will be changes at ZRH because of the introduction of Schengen. VIE is still in Schengen, so I have no idea, how KE or ZRH gate manger respectively will handle the this flight… If it's treated as a intra-Schengen flight, your gate will be closer to the lounge.

Sorry, can't answer your other questions, I must take my first KE flight, yet.

True, but KE also uses the Bellevue Lounge which is much closer to the gate (E). It's a nice lounge, but no separate section for F.

many thanks for the answers so far
obviously there is not much experience for the sector zrh-vie, but could somebody tell what champagne is served by KE in First (or Prestige) Class?

and a happy new year to all of you at flyertalk

Piper NV in Prestige.

I haven't flown F but the bottle on my latest flight looked like Krug from a distance. ^ They also have JW Blue Label in F if you're into that (often served that to me in J :D).

So finally I can answer my own questions, took flight in F ZRH-VIE last weekend:
Champagne: it is indeed Krug Grande Cuvee, splendid (BA could learn and follow KE !!!)
Lounge ZRH:at checkin I received an invitation to the KE "First Class Lounge", invitation card and told so by checkin agent (swissport).
Asked if this First Class Lounge maybe the Bellevue Lounge?Received an asthonished, little ashamed "yes" by the agent.
Of course Prestige Class passengers also end up in the Business Class lounge, vulgo Bellevue.......
Boarding: extraline for first and prestige class, but one jetty leading to first door closed.Entering the plane, just told to turn left, no hello or anything.
Afterwards very friendly, caring flight attendants (all female).Purser came to introduce herself.
Food: Pumpkin Soup, Smoked Salmon sandwiches and little fruit platter
Also tried a Ginseng tea, quite nice for an 1 hour flight.
F: 4/12 seats (1 obviously crew member, pilot?) C+Y very full
Seats: Very old, classic First Class seats, almost looking the same as in Prestige Class, but in F more seat pitch and I guess more or less 170° flat, while in C-Class more like a classic cradle seat
Arriving in Vienna: Transfer passengers to Seoul had to leave plane just to stay at the gate lounge ?!
Arriving at the luggage belt: Surprise just 2 bags of my wife and me.
Obviously not many people knowing of KE and their traffic rights between ZRH and VIE.
Verdict: a lot nicer than to fly with LX or OS between ZRH-VIE (although with 3 departures per week, you have to be flexible)
Looking at prices ZRH-ICN or VIE-ICN around 7000-12000 Euros RT, for an old configured First Class, no way. They should really fast change all of their planes to their newest configuration.

One question: How long does it normally take for miles flown on KE to post at Flying Blue account?

Kind regards,

Ettrich

856 EUR/return is actually pretty steep price for 75minute flights.
