I have a Blue from American express and want to enroll it into the regular AMEX Membership rewards not the Membership Rewards Express. Is there a way I can do that? I don't mind paying a fee.

It has been mentioned on here previously that it is possible. I believe the fee is $40. I'd call the number on the card and ask to enroll and they should be able to do it for you.

It is worth noting that some here have reported that the conversion from MR Express to MR happens at a 1:1 ratio so you can earn for free and then convert when you are ready to redeem and not have to pay the annual fee during the earning time. YMMV, but something to consider.

I called twice and they said it was not eligible to be enrolled into the membership rewards program.

Am I doing something wrong or are the CSRs wrong?

I believe it is not possible based on what I had seen on their site and what I was told. (this was six months ago)

It's definitely possible (I almost did it just a few months ago), but why bother?

Like others have said, make the conversion if and when you want to transfer out. Otherwise, save your MR fee.

You can just apply for amex green charge card and will automaticly enroll you into MR program
