The website says its part of the green collection, how is the gas millage dagowolf Dec 23, 08, 10:33 am It's actually a pretty good car. I'm not sure on the milage (because I'm too lazy to convert from km/L), but it was pretty good. I drove Toronto to Guelph (nothing to see there), drove around Guelph, and back to Toronto and it wasn't anywhere near a full tank. I don't even think it was a half tank. Overall I really liked the car. It was comfortable yet sporty enough to deal with the QEW during rushhour. No real blindspots and had good fit and finish. That said, the Mercury Milan I got in ATL was even better, and since I had the fuel option there I still can't tell you the milage. DevilDog438 Dec 23, 08, 11:14 am I just bought one a few months ago. Gas mileage averages out to about 22, as high as 27 if you are doing mostly highway miles. I usually get close to 400 miles on a tank in the DC area. raoulsch Dec 23, 08, 11:22 am I had a Fusion from Hertz for a 4-day rental. Good car overall, spacious, solid, upscale feel. liked the Sync featuer to connect cell phone via bluetooth, and the AUX jack to use my iPod. I didn't the gas mileage was anything special. Cheers DevilDog438 Dec 23, 08, 11:24 am Forgot to mention - for the overall size of the vehicle, the trunk is a cavern. 3Cforme Dec 23, 08, 11:28 am I will be renting one of these on Friday at Birmingham. How are these cars? The website says its part of the green collection, how is the gas millage Four cylinder Fusions are moderately thrifty but sluggish, much too quick to grab a higher gear. Economy is equal, or inferior to, equivalently powered Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima, Hyundai Sonata, and Chevy Malibu, so the green in Green Collection is the green Hertz is stripping from you. Six cylinder Fusions are very zippy but not notably economical. With either engine the car has very competent handling and ride. cordelli Dec 23, 08, 3:11 pm I had one someplace and liked it. It was one of the better rentals I've had. rynbmw Dec 23, 08, 5:52 pm thanks for all the responses loboclone Dec 23, 08, 5:56 pm thanks for all the responses i rented Fusions from hertz several times and bought one in Nov. In spite what others have said about the 4 cyl it is good, 32 highway and 27 to 28 city. love it! BamaVol Dec 23, 08, 5:58 pm The gas mileage will vary by engine. The Fusion comes equipped with a 4 or 6. I think most of the Fusions in rental fleets will be 6's. I too have enjoyed these when I've rented one. I almost bought one, but wanted the fuel economy of the 4 with the quieter engine of the 6. Ford's website lists the I4 with auto 5 speed as 20/28, 18/26 for the V6. rynbmw Dec 23, 08, 6:07 pm awesome since im going to be driving from BHM to corinth mississippi and it will be all interstate driving jfranci3 Dec 23, 08, 8:06 pm There was a transmission programming change in either '08 or '09 that makes the 4cly terrible to drive. They basically made the car hold on to higher gears as long as possible to improve gas milage. Otherwise, they are fine cars. |
