Radisson goldpoints plus - "best rate guarantee" -- easy or hard?

I found a Country Inns where the best rate on the official website was about 50 bucks more than from easyclicktravel. I booked a refundable rez on the Country Inns site and filed a claim for the price match + 25%. Are these guys pretty good on this, or do they try to find some obscure difference in terms and conditions (like $25 at easyclick is non-refundable)? I can't find any difference in the room descriptions (hardly surprising at a Country Inns).

I also noticed that the Country Inns/Radisson rules say that if my request is approved, they'll book me at the lower rate but charge me $25, which is non-refundable. That seems pretty unfair. Is it actually enforced?

Thanks.

Well, in less than 24 hours (on a weekend no less), they honored the "beat rate" offer with the 25% discount. It does say there's a $25 cancellation fee, so I guess you only want to do this if you're sure you want the deal.

I found the rate by using Kayak. When I come across a Carlson hotel group property that way, I guess I'll make a habit of comparing it to the official website rates.

I found it very difficult to get the best rate guarantee. They havent honored it once and i found valid rates on Hotels.com. I didnt persue it after we exchanged two emails as its too much hassel. I didnt stay with them in protest! I went with the Marriott.
