Miles & More (Lufthansa, Austrian, Swiss, and other partners) - how close to the threshold did you (re)-qualify?

couldnt help but smiling......:D
2008 has been quite busy travelwise for me. and yet had it not been for a late rush in activities (and thanks to the LX J upgrades, more out of convenience, rather than mileage collection considerations) this year i probably wouldnt had requalified....i do confess that i had always considered to do a MR if i was, say 20k short at the end of 2008. However, as things were developing over the past 2 months, that seemed like an unnecessary exercise.
anyhow, had everything worked according to schedule i would have been approx 10% above the threshold. Things went extremely pear-shaped lately, that is the last 3 weeks....UA flights missed due to weather (my fault), as a result C class longhaul ticket on OS foregone, 3 incidents (i know i should claim ticketed as oppsoed to actuals) where because of weather, tech, ops reason, i went nonstop on either LH or non HON metal.......
so...true, i should be entitled to more miles than what is showing in my account today, but once i have completed my pre christmas flights (lets hope things dont go t%@s up) I will land at 600,013 milles. :D
ok. i could optimisse by the end of 2010 and fly 13miles less....:p. or try to fly 14 miles less and appeal to LH.

so, out of curiosity and, please, no pissing contest...anyone with similar or contrary results?or anyone who missed the next level by a fraction and tried to negotiate with LH?

Not re-qualifying but qualifying for me:

Currently at 425k for this year and another 160k booked and ticketed until April 2009.
Target should be done by May ... then time to book awards for the rest of 2009 until the next re-qualification cycle begins. (I managed to re-qualify for BA Gold in 2008 too, which was a bit tough actually)

Nice job going 13 miles above the threshold ! :D

btw, being a smartass....13 miles equates to 0.0022% over performance (my boss would call this sandbagging....)
sometimes, the beauty of number simply puzzles me...:D

100.348 miles to requalify.
Since I have to pay for my tickets myself (Nah, no company behind my bookings), I use to/have to fly Eco.
Austrian's anniversary offer made C affordable - otherwise I would have had to run for miles.

I got 117k Miles that year. OK I planed some trips to maximise the milage, but no unnessary trip or milage run had to be done.

Requalified for QF Gold and will be QF Plat in Feb as I am not a Loyal LH Customer any more.

I've closed the year with 612.263 - so I had a minimal safety margin (won't work if one TATL in Y cancelled/missed :) ). But I thought of doing some run for miles if 5-10k was missing (and pay from my own pocket :) ), fortunatelly it was not necessary.
With 600.013 you'll be very frugal HON ;) I guess LH prefers to have guys with 1M per year in F rather than us - barely on target ;)
I don't expect to fly more than 100k next year, as my company has new rule: no flying at all (so instead flying a few times a week, I'll do this a few times a month). So I'll get my life back, but then I'll struggle to requalify as SEN :) Anyone having similar "problem"? (BTW - if there are more people like me, then airlines will have serious problem, even with oil prices at 20$... somebody has to fly)

I bet the overwhelming majority of HONs are within a range of 10-20K miles above the threshold ;) Since, I guess, we have about 50 HONs or more in this forum, let's have a poll! :D

I ended up with 157065 status miles. Sort of no question of qualifying (my first year as SEN) or doing anything better. All of it in paid Y
(though with a few op-ups and and evouchers used).

I'm glad to be done travelling for the year, to be honest.

Frohe Weihnachten!

If you don't reach HON you will be SEN automatically for the next two years and FTL for the two years after.

Lets wait for the next round of enhancements… ;)

I will be ~10% above threshold by the end of the year in M&M, the rest went to BD and BA…

Are you registered in Germany? You'll need 130k miles then. Otherwise wait till tomorrow, LH takes some time to process the qualification.

So far this year, I have exactly 0 status miles. Plenty to qualify and a pretty good approximation to how dearly I hold my SEN level :o.

!

That from you :p ! Not at all anymore - but this was my non-qualifying year - hence I am filthily proud to finish it as close to zero as possible.

It won't be all zero as 2 LX E fare will have to go to Miles'N'More as MP doesn't count them.

As you know my love for MP has died off a fair bit with the new cabins and the WWII style inflation they offered us in return....

I could not avoid getting 7500 miles from domestic and european E-Class tickets. With the exception of these, every mile went into BD (close to 600k destination miles).

So it was YOU who caused BMI to cap the >55k bonus for next year ! ;)

What? Has BMI cancelled the >55K bonus for next year??

Indeed, the terms and conditions now read:
"Gold members with over 55,000 membership status miles will have any miles over this amount converted to destinations miles up to a maximum of 250,000 destinations miles."
This sucks!

Might be. However, I am proud to be a loyal bmi customer.

I actually spent a total of 90 GBP on three LHR-DUB legs to use my GUV's :D >I was amazed that I got 1200 destination miles for each of the three legs. However, only a few status miles.

I could not use the last one because I flew DUB-OSL-DUS for 56 Euro all in (and full bmi miles :D). We had the Elk-steaks I bought in OSL duty free for dinner tonight :D

My father will be at 100,934 once the last of his flights post.

Good decision to go for the requalification this year rather than next - like for many others, it's definitely looking like an off-year travelwise.

i didn't have to requalify this year so only 26k statusmiles went to M&M. By early february I'll be done with 50% of my SEN requaly. I'm happy with the privileges and the occasional op-ups and won't change to another FFP. Joyeux noël!

Lost SEN in Feb 08 and had it back in Mar 08 (SIN based though - 100K threshold). Overall almost 180K status miles with M&M this year all in Y - yikes. Okay there were 2-3 op-ups and one FRA-SIN leg on SQ was upgraded with eVouchers (SQ25). So not even close to beating 14mls or 15mls.

Started with BD in May 08 and made 55K Club in Oct 08. Now sitting at roughly 220K BD destination mls (destination) - of course also all Y - double yikes. Only one flight with BD on LHR - ALA - LHR (around 700 GBP) and managed to upgrade both sectors with GUV though - now that was a good use.
