I have about 25K points from 2001 that i have never used. is there something i can do with them, at one of the nicer BW properties. I dont forsee staying at a BW any time in the near future, as nearly all my travel takes to me to either Hyatt, Hilton or Starwood.

thanks for any help.

You can start by looking at the Best Western Rewards website (accessible in a click or two from the main Best Western site). There are ALL KINDS of possibilities for redemption:

If you absolutely won't use them for something, you can post in CC to see if someone else will trade you for them.

BW award nights are in multiples of 4K, starting at 8K per night, up to 36K for the finer properties. 25K will get you 3 nights at an 8K property (generally not recommended, although an offseason stay might find you an acceptable hotel), or 1 night at a 16K, with 9K left over.

Exchange them for retail gift cards. They have some good deals sometimes.

I agree, this is the best and most flexible option!

If U or your Coupon Connection trading partner (TP) need more points for the desired room/ hotel, anyone who has a Diners' Club card can use DC points to put more points into your acct.

I've got the same issue as the original poster, 70,000+ points due to the lack of Priority Club hotels in the area. Should I wait for Best Western to put gift cards on sale?

I have 54k points, with last BW activity Sept. '07.
Will these points expire if I don't use them or have hotel activity?

I don't stay at BWs anymore, preferring the better Marriotts and Hamptons.

BW points can be exchanged for GCs [url=https://goldcrownclub.bestwestern.com/awards/index.asp] here. 6250--6500 points will getcha a measly $25 GC (or BW's own GCs are on sale now for "only" 5500 points per $25, which is only a little worse than the avg. half a US cent per point which most room redemptions getcha nowadays!

Or 5000 BW will getcha 1000 FF miles.

When it was Gold Crown Club, the points did not have an expiration date. I did not check after the change to BW Rewards to see if any conditions were altered. I took it to be a name change only and believe they still last forever.

I currently have an 8K balance with no specific travel plans for the rest of the year. I'll just sit on them along with my other balances that do require periodic activity. It's a good idea to keep records (I use excel) to remind you when you need to buy an iTune or something to keep your points and miles alive.

From the Best Western website:

https://goldcrownclub.bestwestern.com/custserv/faq.asp#Q5

Q: When do points expire?
A: Effective March 1, 2006 Best Western International will no longer expire Best Western RewardsŪ points
