Midwest - Cleveland RTS: Amtrak station stop "by request"?

In reviewing the map of the Cleveland RTS, I see the Amtrak station stop labeled as "by request." Does this mean I have to find the conductor or driver when boarding and advise them of my desire to disembark at the Amtrak station?

Also, I am catching a train leaving around 2:30am and will try to arrive at the Amtrak station a bit after midnight. Is it safe to use the RTS from the airport, or should I take a cab to preserve my life and health?
