I'm planning on getting a room for my brother for his upcoming trip to the Cotton Bowl. He and a couple buddies will be making the drive up from Oxford for the game and I am trying to figure out what SPG property makes the most sense for them. I'd like to avoid blowing a ton of points... He is pretty easy to please.

Have you read any of the Dallas Master threads? If they are easy to please any of the Westin's will do.

The Sheraton Dallas is the closest at 2.13 miles away and 7k points
The Westin City Center is 2.24 miles away and the Joule (luxury collection) is 2.38 miles away.

GO RED RAIDERS!!!

Depends what you are looking for. There is a Sheraton downtown thats a short cab ride to uptown bars, etc. There is also a nice Sheraton close to the Galleria in North Dallas. Both are cheap and "decent". If you want to spend the coin then stay at the W Hotel near uptown or Westin in the Galleria.

Party = W Hotel or Sheraton downton
Wine and Dine = near galleria

The Sheraton and Westin City center are basically across the street from each other. I think the Westin is a better choice for being close to uptown and deep ellum if they want to go out on the town.

I stayed at the Sheraton North by the Galleria for the OU-Texas Game. Drove 2 miles to DART train stop, took train to downtown and then they had busses taking people to the Cotton Bowl. I think they do the same for the January bowl game. Sheraton North was exceptional for only 3000 points per night. Call Dallas Area Rapid Transit to verify bus schedule.
By they way, the Sheraton downtown was right across the street from the bus pickup location, and it looked awful from outside.
