Hilton HHonors - AMEX 5 pts / eligible dollar not posting correctly

Hi,

Ive just reviewed my AMEX HH Plat CC statement. When I tallied up all the hotel spenditures I noticed that it was coming way short.

I stayed at 4 hotels and only 2 of the 4 hotels posted as "HOTEL" which in turn got multiplied by 5 points on the statement and the rest didn't.

Conrad BKK posted twice as a "HOTEL" but Hilton SIN and Conrad HKG didn't. :td:

I just spent an hour on the phone with Amex and they have no clue, and referred me to HHonors. :td:

Has anybody seen this before? How can I solve this. The point difference is 7K which to me is important.

After hanging up with AMEX, they called back after 2 hours to let me know that he had been researching it and speaking with his supervisor. He then said that they would credit the account the missing points. ^

So, I guess make sure you guys double check your statements. He said that sometimes due to cost hotel chains don't register as "HOTEL" on your statement because it was cheaper for them to register it as a merchandise or something else. So look at your statements carefully to make sure you get credit for the right items.

rarely happens for non-US properties ... also some other 5 pts. sometimes don't credit correctly ... if it's a big ticket item I usually complain and get the points w/o a problem .... some things also credit with 5 instead of 3, so it all averages out for me.
