Hello, I am travelling with 11 people to Dusseldorf next year and I am looking for 2 mini vans. I am Hertz Gold. Any help would be appreciated.

If you search on the Hertz website under Dusseldorf, you can see what types of vehicles they have. It looks like you can choose from a full-size van: VW Sharahn or similar (Group T), a standard: a Ford Transit or similar (L), a premium: Mercedes Vito (Group U) or a luxury: Mercedes Viano (P).
You say you are #1 Club Gold ... did you add international rentals to your profile? You need to fill out a separate vehicle preference and insurance coverage form and mail or fax it in so you can rent overseas and go straight to the vehicle without having to stand in line.

Going to the vehicle is normal in many places, but at DUS the Gold desk is the left lane of the normal counter. They do walk over to you quicker though when there is a line waiting!

I must say that DUS generally gives the best service of any of the German locations I use (and miles ahead of my usual MUC)
At DUS the agent often makes note that she has read that I prefer a VW Golf and 'specially selected' a vehicle for me. This compared to MUC which tells me quite often that there are only 3 VW Golf automatic in the entire Hertz Germany fleet. :rolleyes: Ah ha, when in that case they are all stationed at DUS?
When returning the vehicle, note that the onsite gas station is automated (at least during off hours) so you may want to refuel before reentering the airport grounds (I may be wrong if this has changed recently)

The VW Touran is essentially a superstretched Golf and apparently seats 7; I don't see it listed on the Hertz.de website but my friends in MUC Hertz have tried to give this to me in past in place of a Golf (I have never accepted it as I do not need a multi passenger vehicle and it will not fit in my garage)
If price is a consideration you may want to see if the Touran is a rental option as it seems to seat about the same as the Sharan but in a somewhat smaller package (more of a large car than a mini van)
I am honestly not familiar with either vehicle other than on the Hertz lot as I don't know anyone who drives them.
