Gaming Loyalty Programs - [rumor] Harrah's Diamond 15,000 Tier for 2010

Just found out there is rumor that qualification for Harrah's diamond level is being increased from 11,000 tier to 15,000 tier in 2009 (for diamond in 2010).

Details :

It has been posted on acvpp that it will take 15k points earned during 2009 to be Diamond for 2010.

Again, this is a rumor, but supposedly it has been confirmed by a HET host.

That's pretty steep considering the economic conditions, but I had a feeling it would go up since they started giving tier points for all room charges. Of course, those with decent comps rarely have folio charges so that doesn't help us.

Now if they put decent food and beverages back in the Diamond Lounge that would make it an easier decision to keep going for Diamond every year. If they continue to cut back Diamond amenities, while increasing the points needed, then HET may find a big drop in Diamond players in 2010.

...? HET's business is so robust that it has to make Diamond status more selective? I don't think so.
