Analise Dec 16, 08, 11:36 am Deleted BaliParis Dec 16, 08, 1:15 pm Eyelash products, such as Revitalash and Jan Marini Age Intervention have been very, very popular for the past 2ish years. They both once contained bimatoprost, the main ingredient in Lumigan which is believed to boost lash growth, that is one of the side effects. Since the FDA raided Jan Marini's warehouse last year and a law suit by Allergen. The Companies that manufacture Revitalash, Jan Marini and others had to reformulate their products, they now contain peptides and no bimatoprost. A few friends of mine used the original formula Revitalash. And their lashes were super long, fake like without mascara. I have been using the new reformulated Revitalash since last summer, and my lashes are definitely much longer. There is a Derm in Orange County, CA that sells Lumigan as an eyelash product. It is used as an eyeliner style application just like Revitalash and Jan Marini. She claims to be in the top tier of Botox users in the US. I think, if approved, Latisse will add more popularity to this very hot beauty segment. Owlchick Dec 17, 08, 2:03 pm I use blinc mascara when I want thicker lashes and it works very well. ArtfullyUrs Dec 17, 08, 4:12 pm Eyelashes boosting drugs are such scam. I would never believe in that. First of all, there are many faux eye lashes out there that look great. I personally love long lashes, very dark :) I even know people who don't take any eyelashes boosting drugs but they "trim" their lashes and they said the lashes grow out longer... I never tried . DiorShow Mascara is the best out there for $27 dollars, but if you are on a budget, Maybeline Dark Black mascara at any drug store will do. Flyingmama Dec 17, 08, 4:35 pm I have a friend whose eyelashes never realy grew back very much after treatment for ovarian cancer. I imagine something like this would be helpful in those cases - provided, of course, the drug is shown to be safe in these patients. (It would be nice if it also worked on eyebrows, too.) l'etoile Dec 17, 08, 9:41 pm As a moderator, I just want to remind folks that this thread is about a drug that's alleged to lengthen and thicken eyelashes. Let's please keep to the topic. l'etoile moderator Women Travelers Now just a poster ...I'd like to see before and after photos ... BaliParis Dec 19, 08, 1:48 pm I have a friend whose eyelashes never realy grew back very much after treatment for ovarian cancer. I imagine something like this would be helpful in those cases - provided, of course, the drug is shown to be safe in these patients. (It would be nice if it also worked on eyebrows, too.) The doctor who developed Revitalash, made it for his wife who had breast cancer and going through chemo. A portion of proceeds from Revitalash goes to Breast Cancer research. It is quite possible for one to use Revitalash, Jan Marini Lash on the brows. Dr. Denese eyelash and brow enhancer, of course can be used on both. All three products are applied on the base of lashes, as one would apply liquid eyeliner. Simple method can also be used on brows. Talika has been making eyelash/brow conditioners for years. The eyelash conditioner, lipocils is applied like mascara. The Talika products are much more old school. If FDA approved, the eyelash boosting drug, Latisse would also be applied like eyeliner on base of lashes. One would need a prescription for Latisse. And yes, one target market would be people who have gone through chemo. If one chooses, there are some wonderful products. Obviously, not all products work the same on everyone. |
