Travel Technology - Shure (and other isolating) mods
Saw this and had a chuckle:

Wish I had thought of it before my Sony MDR-11 died....always hated the tips that came with it and never quite found the right fit.

Or, if you don't feel like the DIY approach with your expensive earphones:

I'm actually considering getting impressions made and having some custom tips done. I'm tapped out on the flex spending account for this year though (to cover the audiologist visit), so I'm waiting for January 1.

I've had a pair of e3c's for a while that have been drawer-ed because of loose ear pieces that used to get stuck in my ear canal. Guess I'll be trying out this mod before my next trip :) Thanks for the tip!

I'm glad to hear that I wasn't the only one who had those ear pieces from the Shure e3c stick in the ear. First time it happened, I was on a flight SLC-YYC, and I couldn't get the darn thing out. I had to wait until I cleared immigration and customs to get a pair of tweezers of of my suitecase to take it out! Now, I carry a pair of tweezers in my carryon. It does look a little funny, though, to see me stick those tweezers in my ear to retrieve the piece :-)
