know this isnt BA related (well, slightly) but need some help from experts.

colleague of mine (who lives in Miami) is flying his daughter to Miami from the UK to surprise his wife (she thinks the daughter wont be here for x-mas but only coming in Jan).

there was an accident on the way to LHR and she missed her flight to MIA. BA have put her on a flight to JFK (BA 113) which is scheduled to land late at 19.03. He's booked her a connection to Fort Lauderdale with JetBlue (flight 47) at 19.25. BA 113 was meant to land at 6.30 and through a contact at BA (he knows the Regional Director for Florida and Carribean), they were going to have special services escort her through immigration, get her bag and rush her to JetBlue terminal. clearly a challenge (and maybe an impossible challenge even if the flight was on time) but impossible with the delay.

however, believe there were weather delays in the NYC area today and if the JetBlue flight was delayed, there might be hope.

can anyone help with tracking how the plane that is due to operate as JetBlue 47 from JFK to Fort Lauderdale tonight is doing, i.e. how likely there will be delays (or no delay)?

any help appreciated.

She is in luck.

It is delayed (http://www.jetblue.com/flightstatus/flightstatussched.aspx?panInput_3=Where+from%3F&depCity2=&panInput_4=Where+to%3F&arrCity2=&ytt0=Today&flightNumber=47&ytt1=Today&x=58&y=16&FlightDate=Today&FlightNum=47&FlightOrgn=&FlightDestn=) -- from 7:35 PM to 9:20 PM.

Hi,

According to ;

http://www.jetblue.com/flightstatus/flightstatussched.aspx?panInput_3=Where+from%3f&depCity2=&panInput_4=Where+to%3f&arrCity2=&ytt0=Today&flightNumber=47&ytt1=Today&FlightDate=Today&FlightNum=47&FlightOrgn=&FlightDestn=&x=39&y=12

Flight 47 is delayed to 920pm (2120)

However they may still require you to meet the check in time deadline of the normal flight departure time. ( alothough hopefully her contacts can soomth her way to the flight)

Good luck.
Regards

As this really relates to Jet Blue - and there is a JetBlue forum on FT - I'm going to move this over there

As it stands right now the aircraft that is flying FLT 47 is on it's way to JAX. Then it has to come back to JFK before heading down to FLL. There is some nasty weather on the east coast today so traffic in and out of the major east coast airports is at a crawl. EWR is seeing 4.5hr delays right now. Things could change and the plane could be changed but right now it is scheduled to leave at 2120 (9:20p)

Current flights operated by the aircraft that is operating FLT 47

B6 615 JFK-JAX
B6 616 JAX-JFK
B6 047 JFK-FLL

If it has not yet been completed, it is critical that the colleague perform the OLCI steps for the flight prior to a hour before the original departure time. She can always do it again when she gets to T5 and print a BP there, but if she isn't checked in prior to the original flight closing out she may have trouble checking in later.

Complete the OLCI some how like the others stated or call 1-800-Jetblue and let them know about the situation because there is always the possibility that come the original close out time, they will consider her a no show and release her seat.

a supervisor can always open a flight back up..in dire/critical circumstances. but im sure even if she shows up an hour before the flight actually leaving she'll be fine.

We won't know for sure until the OP replies but it would look like it as BA 113 arrived JFK at 7:08pm and B6 47 didn't depart till 10:38pm courtesy of the lovely weather we had here in the NY area yesterday.

I'm glad I went illegal for the beginning of my trip yesterday and didn't end up working. I bet JFK and BOS were parking lots yesterday because of the beautiful weather they had all day yesterday.
