US Airways Dividend Miles - Is breakfast on the BWI-LAS morning nonstop edible (in FC)?

Or should I try to pick something up in the airport? And yes, I can't freaking believe I am schlepping to BWI. But it was $200 cheaper than DCA-BWI, first class upgrade was guaranteed (vs. sold out on DCA-LAS) and I have to fly home LAS-BWI anyway since they cancelled the LAS-DCA redeye.

I would definitely say edible. It is usually an omelette and potatos OR yogurt and fruit. Either one is decent, but not great.

I've always had the omelette and have no complaints. It's certainly not 5* quality but it's pretty good.

What seat are you in? I was in 3D on an A319 last week and did not get the hot meal (none left), got a bowl of strawberry yogurt. Learned my lesson, if I have a choice don't book row 3. Couldn't even cross my legs because the guy in front of me was fully reclined.

There's no consistency - sometimes they begin taking orders from the rear, sometimes the front. At least once instance was posted here of a FA incorrectly stating he would go by status beginning with PP's, and not taking kindly to a passenger questioning why he was not starting with CP's.

The guy sitting next to me asked about breakfast before we even left the gate. The FA said he had 6 hot and 6 cold meals and he has to start taking orders from row 1 or he might lose his job.....

Well gee. Did he start with 1A and end with 3F? Would hope so or it's just more proof that the FA was full of crap.
Pity the poor sap who paid full fare for F and is seated in row 3 then. But no pity for the CP who paid full fare F, for he or she should have known better. :)

Yes, he went in row order 1A to 3F. He actually said to the guy next to me (3F) that if he wanted a hot breakfast he should buy it at the airport before he gets on. The guy told me he had upgraded with miles, don't know if he status. He asked the FA before departure because he said the same thing happened the last time he flew FC. He called somewhere to complain and they said next time to make sure the FA knows you want a hot meal, so that's why he brought it up when we were still at the gate.
Let me guess?

Don't think so. I heard the FA say to someone that he grew up in the North Hills of Pittsburgh. He said he's been an FA for 25 years, so I assume he is ex-PIT.

I also don't mind the omelet. Have never had, or been interested in, the yogurt.
As far as order-taking goes, on my last breakfast flight (SFO-PHL) I was the last F passenger to board. When I took my seat (3F on a 321), the FA said the only thing she had left was the omelet, and would that be ok? I had never seen an FA take meal orders before departure (let alone before all of F had boarded), and it would have really bothered me if I'd gotten stuck with the yogurt. (As it was, at least one omelet made it back to row 4, and I didn't complain since I ended up with my first choice anyway.) Has anyone else seen this--specifically, a FA taking meal orders before F had fully boarded? According to debbieb's FA, that's a firing offense. But it's entirely possible that they took orders by status . . . I was still Silver at the time, and had gotten the last F seat.

My order was taken while on the ground (can't recall if F had fully boarded) last Feb on a MCO-PHX leg.
I would give anything for consistency. I can roll with the punches of devaluations but having no uniform customer service to any real degree is what really drives me nuts.

Back "in the day", this was common. The F/As would take the orders while taxiing.

I flew to SJU from CLT in October and the FA took food orders at the same time she took preflight drink orders. I ran to ther restroom before this and she came back to me in row 1 before heading to row 3. Thought i was going to miss the warm meal.
