Ok, I love my MBA and I have a 3G iPhone but I'm getting a bit tired of looking like a walking, talking Apple advertisement.
I could really try and lobby my employer to get me a x300 instead of the MBA, but frankly I don't want to lose OSX and the MBA itself just gets more seductive the more you use it if you're in it's target user group (I definitely am).
I'm OK with the iPhone, but I'm not in love with it. I guess I'm just not interested enough in the add-on software that isn't quite useful without 3G or being in North America. So, I'd be willing to move away from the iPhone if for no other reason than I don't seem to be pulling out Apple's latest each time I open the bag.
Positives in the iPhone that I use:
- Push email from dot.mac (.me smacks of dotcom domain scrounging)
- syncing and integration with contacts
- useful for me texting interface
- I like the on-screen keyboard. Having moved from a SE 910i, it's awesome.
- great for answering the phone (corollary, not so great to dial out)
- iPod functionality
I used SE phones for many, many years and had all the chargers and headsets I could ever need, but they went and changed a couple of things and it was all suddenly useless.
Of course, I don't need to get rid of anything, I could just try to disguise my tech. How can I make the iPhone look like a Nokia?
All advice appreciated, especially if it manages to get my flight from PEK - SYD to start boarding. Yes, this is a "Stuck in lounge" post :p
