Las Vegas - Wynn/Encore Promo Codes 12/26-1/1?

Hi Folks,

I'm wondering if anybody has any promotion codes for either the Wynn or Encore, traveling December 26-January? I was about to make a reservation online before I realized I should probably double check here first just in case. Admittedly, the hotels are offering very attractive rates for those dates on their own (283/nt @ Wynn, 305/nt @ Encore), but was wondering if I could perhaps do better, or receive some sort of perk/credit etc...

Thanks in advance!

book through virtuoso/FHR?

Oddly, the FHR rates are much higher and Encore is not yet a participating property. I don't have any experience in the Virtuoso process...

The dates you are looking for are usually blacked out from promos. If you are set on going with Wynn/Encore, better make a cancelable reservation now as it looks like prices are going up.

Dec 10, 08, 9:54 am
Alas, that is my dilemma. Since my reservation includes the night of December 31, Encore/Wynn requires 30 days notice of cancelation which is obviously not possible at this point. I just verified the rates are still the same and will ponder it just a bit longer before taking the plunge. I just hate the idea of making a reservation with such a harsh cancelation policy... I'm currently booked at the Four Seasons, however I'm having second thoughts about staying so far south on the strip and the idea of staying at the brand new Encore is very enticing!

How about Palazzo? $219 per night, standard online rate. Short walk to Wynn.

mrmbenz1
Dec 10, 08, 12:53 pm
I considered Palazzo given it is also new, but previous disappointing stays at the Venetian make me a bit apprehensive. However, a rate of $219 is certainly worth considering. I'll have to give this decision a bit more thought. Thanks for the helpful info!

Yeah, it is. Inquire about Wynn and then ask if a room type such as "Encore Suite" or whatever is available. Sometimes they have to call the hotel directly. Through FHR, I got a rate for Encore tower suites the first two opening nights at $260, all amenities included. The only thing is, I'm not sure if the amenities are usable at any of Encore's restaurants yet.

Check fatwallet.com for the Wynn promos - with a two-night minimum stay you get 259/n weekend or 169/n weekday and a $100 credit for casino, food or shopping. Your problem is likely to be the night of 12/31 - the promo is unlikely to be available that night, but you can try anyway.

You can try making two reservations - one 2-n stay in your name, another in your spouse's, then you get two of the $100 credits.

Thanks to Mike's advice, I in fact was able to book a room at Encore through Amex FHR--the rooms are simply listed under Wynn as a separate room category. The agent was able to negotiate a rate of about $275/nt with all FHR amenities included. I'll be sure to share my impressions after my trip. Thanks again for the help!

A recent post (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/10874047-post35.html) had a mock-up of what Encore suites was planned to look like. As a poster said, think Hyatt Place.

I just got an email today offering three free nights at Encore on selected dates and cheap, cheap rates at Wynn/Encore other dates. I looks like the offer is personalized but they have a friend referral deal.

Here are the details....

Dear TommyC80,

We encourage you to share this special offer from Wynn with your friends and family.

Wynn Las Vegas Resort Room from $129
Available January 1 through January 31, 2009
Promotion Code: RHHFFV

You have to call reservations directly to book with this promo. It does NOT work online. I would hurry....I sat on the phone for almost an hour to book my free Encore Suite from 1/4-1/7 (BTW, I am only a Red Card Member and have stayed twice in the last two years....they've gotten close to zero action from me)

EDIT: They also gave me a $150 F&B credit for my stay. I'm not sure if that applies to the friends/family offer but you should definitely ask.

Here is a link that should allow you to book rooms online at either Encore or Wynn during the month of Januray 2009 for $129 or $149 respectively:

http://www.visitwynn.com/booknow/RHHED07.cfm

Or I believe you can just enter in code "RHHED07" direcly into the reservation site.

Although this unfortunately will not help me for my upcoming stay, hopefully it will be of use to some of you...

Same, however the rates keep coming down! A day after I booked through American Express FHR, the rates were reduced again, and when I called Amex, they simply called the hotel and had the rates adjusted to rates even lower than what was posted on the Wynn/Encore website... Hope that helps!

I'm not an Amex Plat member, so I don't have access to FHR :( The regular booking site showed me Encore at 161/n, which isn't to bad - but I wonder what kind of rates are available through the FHR service.

That's pretty good! I'll be traveling December 26-January 1, so my rates are obviously higher than that given the holiday period. Currently, my daily rates are as follows: $224, $224, $179, $179, $332, $359. Not a huge savings off of the website, but still lower nevertheless.

The real benefit I get from booking via FHR is the daily breakfast credit, which at Wynn/Encore (same policy at Bellagio) translates into two $20 vouchers which can actually be used at any time of day, one $100 lunch credit during my stay, and a room upgrade if available at check in. Given the dismal occupancy levels in Vegas currently, and the correspondingly low room rates, I imagine I should be getting some sort of upgrade, although I doubt it will be anything other than an upgraded view...

I can't remember exactly how I got there, but I started by going to americanexpress.com/bookwithplatinum. Of course, the site is broken so selecting the 'hotel' option doesn't get rid of the from/to box making the booking process useless.

I think there is another link somewhere on that page for hotels, which takes you to the non-Plat booking site, where I saw the 161/n rate for my dates.

Use the TRVLZOO code on the Wynn or Encore booking site - Wynn rooms are 129/n (!!!) weekdays and 159/n weekends....Encore is $20 more. Just booked two nights before my other promo stay at the Wynn which included the $100 food credit.

I will cancel Planet Hollywood, as I don't need the stay credit with SPG anymore for this year.

Blackout Dates: Dec. 25, 28-31; Jan. 1, 3, 7-11 (higher rates may be available for these dates)....promo available Dec22-Jan14

Hmm - FHR is quoting a best rate of $179 for Encore for a 3 day stay in January compared to the $149 offer. I could use the late checkout, but it looks like the food credits are about a wash with the rate difference.

Anyone think the upgrade is worth it?

Hard to say....I've never stayed! ;)

For me, the late checkout is sometimes VERY important. I would go with FHR

From Resort to Panoramic room? Nah, I'm willing to bet you could get that upgrade just by asking nicely like I have at Wynn.

One excellent FHR upgrade is the Tower to Parlor suite, though. Double the size, but I'm willing to bet with less than 400 rooms total in Encore Tower Suites, that's going to be tough even during slower times. Still, I wouldn't put much trust into what FHR offers until they get their bearings down a bit. While booking my reservations through FHR locked me into a lower rate, for some reason I doubt the breakfast credit will be available for Society Cafe, lunch credit at Wazuzu, etc.

That's the same reason that I didn't bother with Virtuoso this time. Wynn offered me a lower promo rate over the phone (but I still havent seen my free nights offer from casino marketing that others are getting) than what Virtuoso could get...and I also have a $50 dining credit @ Encore that I'm told is good for any of their new restaurants. Now I just need to hear back from you to get your thoughts on Sinatra and Switch so I can make a reservation. From the sound of things it's going to be pretty busy at Switch for a while.

While this may or may not be the case, the hotel is under contract with American Express to provide these amenities. I spoke with the sales manager at Wynn/Encore who informed me that reservations would not have been accepted through FHR if they were not ready to provide the promised services. Furthermore, American Express Platinum is very good with standing behind their product, and should I find I do not receive the dining credits, etc., Amex will likely credit the amount I should have received from the hotel. Either way, at least I ended up receiving a lower room rate than I would have if I had simply booked via the hotel direct. I'll be sure to report back after my stay...

I thought it might based on some comments at Yelp, but I could be wrong - bad news if I'm wrong, as that will just add to the lineups at the Wynn buffet.

I did read on fatwallet that if you sign up for a Wynn Red Card, they will give you (if you ask them to) one or two free buffets with a line pass to cut the regular lineup.

When I signed up for RedCard about a year ago, you had to coin-in $25 for one free buffet, and another $25 for a companion buffet. Since the buffet was $37 for the Sunday champagne brunch I wanted, betting Black on e-roulette twice earned me two free buffets and $100 ^

Of course, I think those promotions change as often as the weather so YMMV.

Encountered a somewhat similar experience with my wife signing up for a red card last December 2007. We earned 2 free buffets but had to by achieve X number of points/coin-in. No line pass for this comp.
I achieved another 2 on my card which I signed up for about 2 years back but had to get more points than for her buffets but we got a line pass.

Wynn resort promo (apologies if this one has been mentioned already):

This is a mailer I received from American Express and you have to book the room with an American Express Card, but they are offering a $250 resort credit with a two night consecutive stay.

It may be targeted, but the letter doesn't specifically say that it is.

The number to call is 888-770-7990 and the offer code is: WPLDD01.

No expiration date mentioned in the letter. It just says "Please Act Soon. This exclusive offer of a $250 resort credit is based on availability."

There are lots of blackout dates around this promo, and the room rate is inflated somewhat compared to some of the other promo rates which do not include such a large dining credit. FWIW, the "D" in the promo code indicates 'dining', while putting an 'E' in the code will net an entertainment credit. Not sure if you can put 'G' in the code and net a gaming credit.

Bottom line - shop around before grabbing the credit rate unless you plan on spending that entire amount.

I booked 2/14 and 2/15 at the Encore directly with the hotel. Using my AAA discount (10% off), the rate is $269 for the Sat night and $152 for the Sun night. With taxes, it's $458.89.

Virtuoso offers the same rate with a few perks:
Upgrade on arrival to the next room category, subject to availability
A $20 per person breakfast credit per day (max 2 in-room guests) at Terrace Point Café
Early check-in and late check-out, subject to availability
Complimentary passes for up to 2 in-room guests once per stay to the Fitness Center & Spa (a $25.00 per person value)

Since my first night deposit is refundable, I'm interested in hearing any of any further deals. I'll keep checking back.

Anyone have info on the room types? Info on the restaurants?

Anyone have info on the room types? Info on the restaurants?

Thanks.

I just posted my impressions of the property over on the Luxury Hotels forum:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/11003353-post21.html

but I will give you a quick rundown here as well...

Rooms:
Basically all of the rooms are the same, even the Towers, aside from their actual suites, but they are all quite spacious and very well appointed. If you've booked a resort room, you will most likely be upgraded to a room on a high floor with a view of the strip. I would request a room on the highest floor possible facing the Wynn on the end of the building closest to the strip for the best views.

Restaurants:
Truthfully, I was a bit underwhelmed by the offerings with the exception of Botero. Society Cafe was enjoyable for breakfast, but since I was there for 6 nights, I also took advantage of some Wynn's breakfast offerings as well. One note of caution I will give you, which I go into detail in my post in the Luxury forum is that taking advantage of the breakfast credits is a nightmare! While I booked with FHR, and I see that you used Virtuoso, I would imagine the policies are similar for the two programs. While I was ultimately able to take advantage of the credits in the long run, it was not without quite a bit of effort...

Casino:
The Encore casino is beautiful, albiet a bit small. Fortunately, there is easy access into Wynn which makes for many enjoyable options.

Overall, the hotel is beautiful, and perhaps the nicest on the strip at this point. Ultimately, you will not be disappointed. Feel free to ask any questions...
