Asiana Club - OZ Seoul Transit tour

I tried searching this forum prior to my OZ flight and couldn't find a lot of information about the Seoul transit tour, so I'm posting this thread for future reference.
If you're OZ to OZ transit is longer than 8 hours, you'll have the option of getting a hotel room or city tour.
Here's a summary of the tour for those who are interested:
1. Tour needs to be reserved 7 days in advance through your travel agent.
2. Once you arrive in ICN, clear Korean customs and proceed to the arrival hall. Look for OZ transfer desk at gate 13 (all the way to the right once you exit customs) and register with them.
3. Tour starts at 9am and lasts ~5 hours. Seoul is about an hour away from Incheon. My flight from HKG arrived at 445am, so I slept on the bench a bit. Do note that hundreds of airport workers arrive around 615am-630am and you might be waken up.
4. Tour stops at Blue House and Joyge-sa Temple before lunch. Lunch is at a nice Korean beef BBQ restaurant. Drinks are extra at 3000 Won.
5. After lunch, there's a brief shopping stop for Korean souvenirs and the bus will return to ICN at around 2pm.
Hope this helps other flyertalkers.

Thanks for posting this. I think this is the most detailed information we have on this board about the transit tour. ^

Good post. How much did it cost? I'm arriving at 6:30 PM and departing next day at 4:30 PM. I think we'd like to get out of the airport and see a few things.
Was it mostly indoor things you visit? We won't have really warm clothing as we're heading to SIN.
Also did you like the tour and find it worthwhile?

The tour was free. The guide didn't even ask for tips.
If your flight package doesn't include the tour, you can still book it. There's a Seoul stopover desk in the arrival hall. On Sunday, I saw that they've a 50% off promotion for the 5 hour tour. 50000 won down to 25000 won. The 1 hour stop to a temple in the Incheon area is free.
The tour is mostly walking outside. It was snowing on Sunday and most people who connected from southeast Asia didn't have enough clothes. Good that I got a scarf.

So is the tour free or not?

My tour was free since I was on an OZ-OZ connection.
I was pointing out in my 2nd post that if you're not doing a KE-KE or OZ-OZ connection or didn't pre-arrange a tour, then you've the option of paying at the airport.

Thanks for this useful info!
I would book another OZ trip like we did this month (SYD->ICN & ICN->HKG) but instead of the night 2-class flight to HKG, leave it as an o/nite if it means we can stay in ICN.
Maybe even do it as SYD-ICN-SIN if a SQ flight to Europe is on offer. :)
Tip: try to do the 3-class OZ flights if you have time in your connections.
The horrible 20 year old 74-Multi they use ICN-HKG 2-class is a claustrophobic nightmare even when it is mostly empty - and you will be refused PJs unless yours is the F seat in the 3-class. :(

odd choice of word- claustrophobic. Why so?
I always flew the combis to/from LHR- the biz seat was an anachronism but quite bearable; economy was fine, and first pretty good. Glad in some ways we have 777 now, but I still like the atmosphere on the upstairs C cabin, and when I flew an FRA-ICN on an unrefurbished a/c quite recently, it still seemed fine.

I suppose LH->OZ and OZ->LH on single ticket doesn't count az OZ->OZ connection, right? :(

I have bought an OZ to OZ connection thru ICN myself online, so I don't have a travel agent. I have over 10 hrs in between flight. How can I reserve the Seoul City Tour with OZ?

First, let me welcome you to FT and the friendly OZ forum, Muaroak! Just give OZ a call and they will book the tour for you.
