Other Middle East and Africa Frequent Flyer Programs - Airside transit at JNB

Quick Question .. arriving in JNB on LX from ZRH and connecting onwards to EBB on SA ...
We've plenty of time for the transit (3h30) , but unsure whether I can skip immigration and stay airside ... I'll be on separate tickets, but I guess could have checked in online for the JNB-EBB flight already and so have a boarding card if that makes any difference.
I've only ever done an arrival or int'l - domestic transfer at JNB before - never a direct int'l - int'l transit

To be honest, I have never done an int' to int' transfer in JNB myself. But judging from a) the posts I have seen on FT about this situation and b) my own observations in JNB, it should not be a problem at all, especially with 3h30 to spare!

I've done this, and it's no problem as log as you keep an eye peeled for the 'transit' or 'transfer desk' sign. If you don't already have your boarding pass, stop at the SAA transfer desk. You'll go through a quick passport check, but you won't get a passport stamp.

Great thanks guys .... I'll keep my eyes peeled for transit signs then .. no big deal if I have to go through immigration.. just consumes unnecessary pages in my passport which are running a bit short! .. and given I only have 3h30 there's no big advantage to going landside - from memory JNB doesn't have anything particularly exciting landside that would make it worth going there

I just went through the transit area in early September. Be aware that all transfers funnel through one check point with only one baggage x-ray device. If you arrive in the morning with a lot of other international flights, the line for transfers can get quite long. It took us over an hour and a half to get through.
