Well, supposed to be travelling on 77A for the first time tomorrow morning to TPE. It was still listed as 77A this evening, but, just a few mins ago, the flight will be on A343 and apparently, it's full in all classes..... Sigh....
I had the same experienc to Jakarta last night. The flight listed was 333 and then when we boarded the flight it was a A340-300. CX staff at check in in Jakarta didn't know the aircraft type except on its arrival
it's CX 460/461, right ? on these flights, yes, substitution happens so often and I got downgrade compensation (from F to J) maybe 50%+ of the time...and sometimes it got changed like 2-3 times, starting like 2 days before the flight...just kept changing...

Yes...it's CX460 and it's a 2-class A343.....don't know if it's one of those with the new seats installed  Good thing that the check-in lady changed my seat to row 30, after I complained about the assignment of my seat to row 44 when she first gave me the bp.

And these type of subsitutions are even more common on short hauls such as HKG-TPE/BKK/MNL etc. By these types of substitutions I mean going from 74A to 34D vv, or 333 to 34C, or 77A to 773 and the list of posibilities goes on. With short hauls like these they have more flexibility in doing equipment switches as range is not an issue.
