Travel Technology - Download a TV show and then I am not aiuthorized to play on my IPOD?

I dowloaded the entire season of Heroes from ITUNES and then when I go to sync IPOD Touch, it tells me I am not authorized to view the shows.

What?

What do I do to fix this issue?

Are you sure the downloaded format is compatible with iPod in the 1st place? The video has to be within certain specs.

But isn't everything on ITUNES supposed to be IPOD compatible?

Are you using iTunes to transfer the files to the iPod Touch? Try seeing if you can view the episodes within iTunes. If you can't, then I'd say your problem isn't the iPod, but rather your account authorizations.

Another consideration - if you have a jailbroken Touch, then the process might have messed up your ability to play iTunes DRM'd files. You might be able to solve the problem by reloading your firmware.

Is it your iPod? Is it sync'ed with the iTunes account you bought the TV shows from?

Oops, didn't see the iTunes part. Just assumed a DL via Interweb.

Was it a podcast or a rented file? I believe that when you transfer rights-managed video, you have to be online.

Make sure you are running the latest version of iTunes 8. In previous versions there were big problems with the authentication. In my case, it would keep prompting me to authenticate, then tell me I had already authenticated, then prompt me to authenticate again. :rolleyes:

But it has been fine (knock on wood) since I updated to 8.0.2 (20).

If you paid for the HD version of Heroes, you actually download two files. An HD version and an SD version. Make sure you put the SD version on your iTouch, or it will not work.

Otherwise, you're likely looking, as was said above, at an authorizations issue.
