Travel Technology - Do you also prefer Flyertalk on your Blackberry vs. PC?

I find it interesting but I almost never visit FT from my desktop, however I visit almost every day from my BB. I see FT much better from my BB. Do you also feel the same?

no way for me, I like the wide open BIG screen of my desktop and do everything I can not to access the net from my BB

This thread probably fits better in Travel Technology so we'll shift it over there.
Thanks.

No, I still prefer the desktop. Viewing is ok, but the posting format is more cumbersome.

Viewing is fine, posting is a pain. Plus, the computer loads new threads/fora soooo much faster.

I like posting on the Blackberry to kill time on the train or at the airport. Posting is actually easier for me on Blackberry than PC imo.

Are folks on BBs using the mobile site (http://mobile.flyertalk.com) or the regular view? Either way, I much prefer FT on my laptop over the mobile version, though I will certainly use the mobile version to pass time while waiting for just about anything.

Never use the WAP version. It is in fact much slower than just loading the real page if your settings are properly configured.

I prefer the wap version on the Blackberry browser actually. Much easier to read column-wise without the screwy website formatting.

I prefer browsing FT from my smartphone as well. I seldom browse FT on my mac, and when I do, that's usually to read a couple of trip reports (cuz of the images) otherwise I prefer my smartphone... and I think I know why; there are no distractions whatsoever. No IM popping in the background, no other tabs in Firefox requiring (or stealing) attention, no ads etc etc. Just pure FT godness... I often find myself reading long Wikipedia articles on my way to office because of the same reason as well. It's easier to focus on one thing when multi-tasking is harder... ;)
Unless I'm missing something the mobile site requires you to page through each response individually. On my iphone I prefer to leave it in portrait mode and zoom in the regular site to retain the ability scroll down the page. I'm all for bigger text but not at the expense of functionality. Usually if I have the option of a laptop I'll use it. But I'm so used to browsing on the iphone I don't really mind using it to read message boards (typing is a PITA though.)

I think you're missing something. I have 30 posts/page on my view for the BB.

When logged in, go to the WAP Home page, My Prefs, Post Options, and change the posts displayed per page to whatever you want. No idea why the default is 1.

I suffer from this too. Good tip, thanks!

I like to read with a gazillion tabs open so that I can view them while flying, so I prefer Flyertalk on my computer.

One more vote for the large screen.
+1 for the large screen. On my Blackberry, it never differentiates between quoted text and reply text. Unless you're following a thread very closely, you tend not to realise for a while that there's an awful lot of repetition!
