I couldn't find a thread on this, so I am creating this one. It seems that there is some disagreement between SeatGuru and SeatExpert. For example, SeatGuru states that row 55 bulkhead seats have restricted legroom (yellow) while SeatExpert states that row 55 bulkhead has pretty good legroom (green/yellow).

SeatExpert

I understand that bulkhead & emergency exit seats have limited width, but I prefer more legroom over more seat width. Are there any "great" economy seats on a 74A, or am I better off picking a regular non-bulkhead/non-emergency exit seat?

Thanks!

I would suggest row 66 or 67 (window+aisle seats). I just did a flight on CX (for the first time) from SFO to HKG and back, and I noticed these seats when I walked back to the lavatory, and boy did I wish I picked those instead of the standard seats. If you're travelling with one other person, these are great because theres only two seats, rather than 3 per row. I hated having to wake up the stranger sitting next to me everytime I needed to get out to use the lav.

The bulkhead seats have pretty good legroom, but restricted "foot-room". On regular seat you can put your feet under the seat in front of you, but not the bulkhead seats. So while there is a little bit of space in front for your knees, you will still have limited room for your feet.

I always sit in 44C or 44H. Row 44 is the emergency exit row and has as much leg room as you could want. The downside is that the lavatory is close, so there are times when people may try to step into your space as they congregate to use the WC. Also, the DEFG row has a bassinet so you run the risk of a screaming baby within arm's length.

Ditto. I'm always in 44A.

Does 44A have a slide that protrudes from the exit door? If so, does it really get into the way of leg space? Is it as bad as the 773 exit door slide?

I'm a bit surprised the other op goes for 44A, since the slide protruding from the door does impact your legroom. I personally find it very uncomfortable to be in that seat for a long flight. However, YMMV.

I've always found it kind of funny that Row 44 offers the best legroom for Economy Class since it's hard to think of a less auspicious number in Chinese.

My thoughts exactly. I would rather take 30A/K anytime or for maximum legroom 44C/H.
Every time I seat in 44C I always pity the person in 44A for having to bear the door/slide protrusion (never sat in 44A/K though).

Well...I'm 5'7" so the door is not an issue. I need the window side to sleep during the flight.

Probably deliberate to reduce demand on exit row seats.
