Hilton HHonors - 500 pts bonus for online booking no more?

Hey, did HH discontinue the 500 point bonus for booking online? My account is 400 points short of an award I want, and my last stay over thanksgiving weekend has posted but the online bonus has not..

Are you referring to the Amex 500 pt booking bonus? It is still there but mine have not posted automatically since Sept. I have had to call each time to have it posted. Each time I am told that the problem is corrected but so far it has not been. I have several trips coming up so I'll see if the bonus posts automatically now.

Maybe you just had bad luck. My 500 point Amex online booking bonus posted automatically for my November 3 stay at a Hampton Inn.

Thanks... but then I would have to give up my Amex DL Skymiles card... which is an ever-increasing possibility.

Shame that they can't merge the two... a cozy as DL and Hilton are (for now).

Well, if you stay at HH a lot it's worth it, 500 pts per stay adds up nicely.

I've had numerous problems with them posting, I pretty much call the DD after every 3rd stay.

Update - now credited 500 points for stay last week plus 2 stays in Nov. Still missing points for one November stay, have taken up with Hhons.

Bonus seems to work for any Amex card flavor. Often I need to use a business Amex and get the bonus (there is no HH Amex business card).

you use your HH amex to book and guarantee and then swap for any other card (e.g. Amex corp.) and you still get the 500 points.

While this is true, it won't post automatically. The promo is supposed to be for the HH Amex. Always book with your HH Amex, then per cfischer you can pay with another Amex (eg corp) but will have to call in later. The DD can only verify that it was paid via Amex, that's why it works.

I don't think so - I've never had a HH Amex, Virgin Amex yes, always pay with my biz amex card. Still missing 1 stay - other 2 in Nov have now appeared as has 1st Dec one.

I was told by CSR that if the reservation is made thru HH's eAdvantage website, then it's not qualified to receive the 500 AMEX booking bonus.

I've found the pattern after another stay failed to generate the bonus. I usually book on hilton.com - the stays where the bonus failed to appear were booked on hilton.co.uk
